Read the text and answer the questions:
An interesting race
There have been a lot of famous cheats in sporting history, even in the most famous sporting event of them all, the Olympic Games.
In 1904 the Olympic Games were in St. Louis and in the marathon race there were some very interesting competitors! It was a very hot August day and more than half of the runners didn’t start because it was so hot. The winner of the race was Fred Lorz. Everyone cheered when he finished and he accepted the prize. But he said later that he didn’t run all the way! He ran the first nine miles but then he got tired and got into a car for the next eleven miles. Then he got out and finished the race! So, he couldn’t be the winner.
The person in second place was Thomas Hicks but then they discovered that he used drugs to help him continue the race when he got too tired!
Another runner in the race was Felix Carvajar. His story was very strange too. While he was running he became hungry and he stopped to eat some apples from the trees in a garden. The fruit was bad and he was sick! But he had a rest and then continued the race. He came fourth.

Англійська мова
Завдання для вступних іспитів з англійської мови складено відповідно до чинної Програми загальноосвітніх навчальних закладів з іноземних мов, затвердженої Міністер¬ством освіти і науки, молоді та спорту України.
Зміст і формат іспиту враховує головну мету навчання іноземної мови в загально¬освітніх навчальних закладах – формування в учнів комунікативної компетенції, базою для якої слугують комунікативні вміння, сформовані на основі мовних знань і навичок.
Об’єктами контролю є лексичний і граматичний аспекти іншомовної комуні¬кації через аудіювання, читання, використання мови, письмо та говоріння як види мов¬леннєвої діяльності.
Частина «Аудіювання» містить завдання на встановлення відповідності, а саме визначити, якому мовцю відповідає певне твердження. Кількість балів за виконання завдання – 2,5.
У частині «Використання мови» учням пропонуються текстові завдання на вибір однієї правильної відповіді з чотирьох. Зміст тестових завдань відповідає сферам і тематиці ситуативного спілкування, зазначеним у шкільній навчальній програмі. Кожна правильна відповідь оцінюється в 0,25 бала. Загальна кількість балів за виконання завдання – 1,5.
Частина «Читання та письмо» містить текст, розуміння змісту якого перевіряється за допомогою відповідей на запитання у письмовій формі, та одне питання, яке передбачає створення власного висловлення відповідно до запропонованої комунікативної ситуації (40-50 слів). Загальна кількість балів за виконання завдання – 4.
Під час вступних іспитів також перевіряється рівень сформованості навичок і вмінь усного мовлення за допомогою зв’язного висловлювання. Відповідь учнів проходить у формі бесіди-діалогу з членами екзаменаційної комі¬сії на одну із запропонованих тем (з елементами монологічного повідомлення). Максимальна кількість балів, яку учень може отримати за усне мовлення – 4.
